Congres | Live Again!

As of July 1, 2020, the central government will again allow congresses to host up to 100 guests, subject to the one-and-a-half-meter distance and various hygiene measures. With the organization of LIVE AGAIN! we wanted to show and experience what is possible and to encourage colleagues from the entire event industry. LIVE AGAIN! was a so-called hybrid congress, a combination of live and online, where the number of guests present can be flexibly scaled up and down according to government guidelines.

The morning program for employees of governments and corporates who are ultimately responsible for organizing conferences and business events was presented by Paula Udondek. In addition, keynote speaker Joost Rigter motivated attendees to trust in the future again and Laurentien van Oranje addressed everyone on the importance of live communication.

In the afternoon, Sjoerd Weikamp of Eventbranche led the event industry program. Keynote speaker and philosopher Bas Haring talked about the importance of live gatherings and Maarten Schram and Pieter Bas Boertje talked about the future of the industry.

Sharing knowledge

Attendees interacted in both the morning and afternoon to share as much knowledge and new insights as possible. The clever splitting of LIVE AGAIN! into two programs for two target groups ensured that we were able to welcome twice a hundred people. In addition, we were able to directly discuss the crucial information we gathered in the morning with the participants in the afternoon. This led to beautiful solutions. Curious about the results? Through a swipe-zine we reported on this Live Taks. View the swipe-zine here.

LIVE AGAIN On Air!

From the on-site webcast studio, we offered an engaging online program led by Roderik van Grieken of the Nederlands Debat Instituut. As many as 20 guests joined him at the table during the day. During the online version of LIVE AGAIN! it was possible to follow the plenary program live, as well as ask questions that were discussed directly during the interactive sessions called: Live Talks. In this way, we were also able to inspire all interested parties who could not be physically present with LIVE AGAIN!

Honorable mention Golden Giraffe

For the first time in years, in addition to naming the award winners, the Golden Giraffe jury also named 3 special mentions. Those honorable mentions are all three for events that have been of great value in putting the event industry on the map and propagating it. They offered hope, perspective and did so with Giraffe-worthy concepts and trajectories. LIVE AGAIN! has been selected as one of the special mentions. Click here for the press release.

In the news

We also used our PR consultants to achieve as much media coverage as possible. And with results! We are proud to have reached more than 2.5 million people on TV alone. For example, WNL Goedemorgen Nederland was present to highlight all aspects of the event in 6 live broadcasts. It was also featured on RTL Boulevard and was in the Telegraaf newspaper. Furthermore, LIVE AGAIN received attention at various news sites and in event media:

Customized advice for achieving your goal

With the organization of the hybrid event LIVE AGAIN! we have experienced that there are numerous possibilities for congresses to take place in full compliance with the current measures. Depending on the objective, we can think along with you about concept development and, for example:

1. organize a conference, event or opening for several small groups without much impact on the budget;

2. organize a hybrid conference that combines the strengths of online and live on location and these elements can reinforce each other to get the most out of a conference;

3. offer the congress entirely online, reaching a larger audience than before.

Are you planning an event soon or are you still looking for the right concept to achieve your goals for this year? Feel free to spar with one of our event professionals, we are happy to think along with you!
