The Assignment
Fortezza Group is an IT partner that helps companies achieve their business goals through IT, cybersecurity, data management and software development. Since Fortezza Group itself also has growth ambitions and wants to make strides in professionalizing their marketing and communications, Smith Communications was asked as a strategic communications agency to guide the company in this endeavor.
The Approach
There was a need for a plan; a vision for communication. And that's where we started in January 2021. We got to know the different business units of the company to find out what the current situation is and where Fortezza wants to grow to. We didn't just do that at the management level. It was precisely by talking to different people in the organization that we got a complete picture. Based on that information, we wrote a communication plan, including a corporate story for each business unit, which also outlined the strategy and approach for the coming year.
The next step was the development of a corporate identity that did justice to Fortezza's knowledge and expertise, as well as the development of new websites. Smith Communicatie supervised the entire process and was responsible for the textual content of these websites.
Our senior communications consultant has now become a permanent part of the Fortezza Group's marketing and communications team and, together with the junior marketer and labor market communications consultant, outlines the strategy. Where necessary, we also take on the implementation, such as translating the strategy into the LinkedIn content calendar, managing external copywriters for the creation of blogs, white papers and customer cases, and thinking along with the content of the quarterly meetings to strengthen internal communication.
The Result and Impact
Since Smith Communications came on board at the Fortezza Group, the use of marketing and communications has become an indispensable component within the organization. Employees now know where to find the marketing communications team internally to spar about the right content and other communications issues. In addition, Fortezza is highly visible and findable externally for new clients since the completion of the new website and its active presence on Linkedin with white papers and other content.
